Aston Villa defender Ron Vlaar insists there's been no contact with Manchester United during the season.

Off contract in June, Vlaar admits there were enquiries from clubs after the World Cup.

"There was interest, but not of the calibre of clubs where I wanted to leave Aston Villa for," stated Vlaar to AD.

"Manchester United ? I've never heard from them.

"As a club I really wish I had, I would have noticed that. That has not been addressed."
