Villa signing Stevens eager to learn from Warnock

New Aston Villa signing Enda Stevens is determined to learn from senior left-back Stephen Warnock.

Although the 21-year-old's ultimate aim is to fight for a place in Villa's back four, he is relishing the opportunity to learn from a seasoned Barclays Premier League full-back like Warnock.

"I'm looking forward to learning from him because obviously he's done it in the Premier League for so many years," Stevens told Villa's website.

"He's a full international with England. All I can do is learn from him and we'll see where it goes from there.

"He's a quality player, there's no question about that. He's proved himself and it's up to me now to just hit the ground running and try to prove myself. It's an exciting challenge. I never expected to come here and just play - you've got to work at it.

"I've worked hard to get here, but it doesn't stop there. I've got to keep working hard to prove myself. Obviously I'll learn from Stephen and Ciaran [Clark] around me as they've played in the league.

"Stephen particularly is an experienced pro and I can pick things up from them."
