Villa's Delph injured whilst on loan with Leeds United

Fabian Delph has been sent back to parent club Aston Villa after picking up an ankle injury on loan at Leeds United.

The 22-year old midfielder sustained the injury in Tuesday night's loss at Coventry City and will head back to Villa Park for treatment although Leeds expect it to be a matter of days before he is available again.

"Fab will be out for Saturday. He's gone back to Villa to be assessed, but he is being monitored and we're hoping it will be a case of days," said Leeds' caretaker boss Neil Redfearn ahead of this weekend's home meeting with Doncaster Rovers.

"Fab's a good player. Against Bristol City and Brighton I thought he played well. He's a big influence and he'll be a big loss."
