Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert is keeping tabs on Gareth Barry's situation at Manchester City.
The midfielder, 32, is entering the final year of his current deal with City.
The Express & Star says Villa are holding out some hope of luring their former captain Barry back to the club. The 32-year-old made the switch from his first club in 2009.
