Villa midfielder Milner willing to play left-back for England

Aston Villa midfielder James Milner says he's prepared to play at left-back for England.

Milner played 15 minutes for his country at full-back - against Belarus - and could find himself back there as Capello assesses his options for the World Cup.

First-choice left-back Ashley Cole is out injured and after Wayne Bridge made himself unavailable for his country following the John Terry saga, Capello is light in that area.

Everton's Leighton Baines, Aston Villa's Stepehen Warnock and Joleon Lescott from Manchester City have all been mentioned as possible starters in the position.

But Milner said: "To have Wayne Bridge available would be great but we'll move on. I've had 15 minutes experience at left-back but that was for England.

"If I'm asked to play there I'll do the best job I can - but my best position is further forward."
