Aston Villa midfielder Fabian Delph says he's learned to be cleaner with his tackling.
Delph first learned to fight fire with fire as a youngster at Leeds, when he used to take on hardman Wise in training, and admits he still loves a tackle.
He said: "You've definitely got to be more careful but the way I play do like to tackle.
"When I was at Leeds and Dennis Wise was the manager, we used to have staff games. It would be youth team against the staff, so they did get quite tasty!
"I remember him going through me. I did tackle him and he tackled me back. It was just one of those things, it was a game situation. They tended to get quite heated but it was all friendly.
"It was about them playing against and us showing them what they had. Funnily enough the same season he managed to give me my debut.
"Gus Poyet was the assistant at the time. He could kick a few people too! I am ever so grateful to Dennis Wise for what he did for me."
