Aston Villa and Everton face frustration in their pursuit of Bordeaux striker Yoann Gouffran.

The 26 year-old was emerging as a top pre-contract target for both Premier League clubs ahead of the New Year.

But Le Parisien says Gouffran is now ready to sign a new, one-year deal with Bordeaux. The striker feels he owes the club after they stood by him in 2010 as he recovered from knee injury.
