Tottenham winger David Bentley is in the sights of Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill.
The People says Villa are tracking Tottenham star Bentley but face competition from Everton.
Both were in for the 25-year-old when he quit Blackburn two years ago, but he opted instead to move to White Hart Lane.
Bentley, however, has not always seen eye to eye with manager Harry Redknapp and, despite an excellent second half of the season, knows he will struggle to hold down a regular spot in the first team next term with Aaron Lennon back from injury.
Spurs would ask for a fee of around £10m for a player who cost them £15m and Lerner would sanction a move providing O'Neill can offload some players.
