Aston Villa defender Ciaran Clark has won big praise from two former Villans.
Alan McInally has seen enough of Clark to know he can go on to be a real asset in claret and blue over the coming years.
He said: "I'm a massive fan of Ciaran.
"He played in a host of positions in previous campaigns and he had a few injury concerns. Now he's looking comfortable and playing in the right position.
"He's been first-class this season. He's still a young man and I think he's a wonderful footballer who will only get better and better."
And Steve Staunton also remarked: "I know Ciaran has played left-back and central midfield but he's always been a centre-back. When you're young and coming up, you sometimes don't play your normal position.
"That's been the case at times with Ciaran. I think he's developing now into a centre-back."
