Aston Villa have completed the signing of Swiss international centre-back Philippe Senderos on a two-year deal from 1 July. The 29-year-old former Arsenal and Fulham defender, who flies to Brazil with his national team on Friday, becomes Paul Lambert's first signing of the summer.
"This will be Philippe's third World Cup finals and there aren't too many players who compete at that level over that stretch of time," Lambert says. "He'll be a great addition to the group."
