Villa co-owner Edens: Emery and Monchi amazing

Aston Villa face a couple of nervy weeks as they determine the fate of their season.

The Premier League club are in a position to qualify for next season's Champions League.

They are also in the Europa Conference League semi-finals after beating Lille on penalties in the quarters.

Co-owner Wes Edens is excited and nervous about the coming weeks, stating to CNBC: "Up the Villa, right? We had a big win against Bournemouth at home. We're in fourth place, six points ahead of Tottenham.

"They have a couple of games in hand so this is far from decided but we're getting closer to the end of the season and every game is like a finals match.

"We invested in the team six years ago. Aston Villa is a very, very historic and proud team, but it had some rough times. Six years ago from the Championship to the Champions League would be a record of some sort.

"We're really rooting for it. We're blessed to have some amazing management there. Unai Emery and Monchi are the people who really operate the team for us on the field. They're amazing guys.

"It's going to be nail-biting the next couple of weeks, but hopefully we'll make it through that and we'll be in the Champions League next year. It would be amazing."
