Aston Villa chief Tom Fox is delighted with Fabian Delph's show of confidence over his new deal.

Villa's star performer penned a new four-and-a-half year contract on the weekend.

"Fabian and I have had many conversations and he believes in this journey that we're on now," said Fox.

"There were a lot of interested club because Fabian is a top young player.

"But it says a lot about him and his faith in this club that he's stayed.

"It was all down to him."
