Aston Villa boss Tim Sherwood has declared Christian Benteke the best striker in Europe.

Benteke was named the Barclays Premier League player of the month for April after scoring five top-flight goals in four games and another in the FA Cup semi-final against Liverpool.

"He is the hot striker in Europe at the moment," said the Aston Villa manager.

"I don't know if there is anyone better. I'm delighted. He's in great form, we' re creating the chances for him and he's sticking them away."

Sherwood added: "Christian's going nowhere - no-one can afford Christian. There is no price on his head."
