Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill was pleased to see off Odense in their Intertoto Cup clash last night.

Level from the first leg, Villa almost went behind before the break when Fall fired against a post.

However, an Ashley Young thunderbolt proved enough to seal the tie and send Villa into Friday's UEFA Cup second qualifying round draw.

"It was an exceptionally difficult tie for us because Odense are a fine side," said O'Neill.

"We had a bit of luck in the first half because had we behind it would have been very hard for us.

"But Ashley Young scored a fantastic goal to see us through, so I couldn't be more pleased."
