Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert is delighted with the attitude of fullback Alan Hutton.
Even during his time out of the side, Lambert was always an admirer of Hutton's personality.
Now he's delighted to be working closely with the Scottish international as the pair plot Barclays Premier League progress.
He told Villa's website: "Alan never let his head go down. He was out on loan a couple of times.
"But I think Alan, the other night, was probably the best player for us. He was excellent against Palace.
"His form this year has been extremely high.
"I think it's great for Villa and Scotland that he is playing the way he is.
"As a man, he is excellent. He is a good guy and a good pro. I am delighted for him.
"I know it was hard for him in the first two years but I am happy for him."
