Kevin Phillips was thrilled to be joining Leicester City after signing a short-term deal on Wednesday.
The 40-year old former England international has joined the Foxes for the remainder of the campaign and he was buoyed to get the opportunity to end his career in the Midlands where he spent time with Aston Villa, West Bromwich Albion and Birmingham City.
"I'm delighted to have joined Leicester, to finally put pen to paper," he told Sky Sports.
"I spoke to you the other day and it was my aim to try and finish my career here in the Midlands. What a great club to be joining in Leicester who are sitting proudly at the top of the Championship.
"They play some good football and I'm signing for a manager (Nigel Pearson) and an assistant manager (Craig Shakespeare) who I played under before at West Brom, I know them very well, and they're a good club.
"For me, the location is ideal and the way they play football and the way they run things is very promising."
