Bolton striker Kevin Davies admits he is still getting over relegation from the top flight last season. And the 35-year-old revealed going down with the Wanderers was more traumatic than when Blackburn Rovers suffered the same fate in 1999.
"The contrast was quite big," he told Press Association Sport.
"The Blackburn one, it didn't work out for me and towards the end I didn't really feel part of that squad or even responsible.
"Maybe I should have but I was still a young boy and you don't take on as much responsibility. Been at Bolton for the number of years I have and been captain it obviously hurts a lot more.
"I didn't expect it to happen but it did happen. It was a horrible feeling and something that not yet really gone away."
