Arsenal skipper Thomas Vermaelen says the players are eager to see manager Arsene Wenger sign his new deal.

Saturday's 6-0 defeat at Chelsea has raised fresh concerns over Wenger's plans.

"Everyone hopes he continues. It's incredible what he has done for the club and for the players.

"We all hope that he will sign a new contract for the upcoming season," said Vermaelen.
