Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink says he's joined Hull City to play his way back into the Holland World Cup squad.
The former PSV Eindhoven and Celtic forward, who spent three years at Parkhead, has been training with FC Twente in recent weeks.
"I looked at other clubs and held talks with them, but I didn't get the right feeling from them," said Vennegoor of Hesselink.
"When I came to Hull City, I got the right feeling straight away. I am glad that everything has worked out okay and I am now looking forward to the challenge of playing in the biggest league in the world.
"I want to play at the next World Cup. If I'm playing club games, that will give me the opportunity to get back into the Dutch squad."
