Carlos Vela hopes to keep Osasuna in the Primera Liga before returning to parent club Arsenal.

The Mexican teenager is set to join manager Arsene Wenger's first team squad for preseason in the summer, but is determined to leave Osasuna safe in the Primera Liga for next season.

"It's a difficult situation as at no moment can we relax or be calm," said Vela. "But in these difficult situations, this is when a player learns plenty. This will be great for my development and experience.

"Hopefully I will be called on to play the last games and to save the team. That would be the best thing."
