Arsenal striker Carlos Vela admits Barcelona signing Cesc Fabregas struggled to cope with his transfer controversy.
Vela also left the Gunners last month, on-loan to Real Sociedad.
"We speak very often," the 22-year-old Mexcio international said. "We made good friends at Arsenal and keep in touch. He is very happy at Barcelona.
"He is about to have a new experience and a great time in his life and career and hopefully all will go well because he is a great professional and a great person.
"But he had a hard time leaving because Arsenal treated him very well and he was much loved."
