Vasalunds defender Fredric Jonson is currently on trial with MLS club New York Red Bull.

The 22-year old Swedish defender arrived at the team's training camp in La Manga, Spain and trained in both sessions on Friday.

The majority of the Red Bulls playing roster were out on the pitch as they prepare for a series of friendlies against Russian outfit CSKA Moscow, Poland's Lech Pocnan and Norway's Stromsjodset.

Red Bulls assistant coach Richie Williams said the first few sessions had gone very well and expected things to get better as the camp progresses.

"It was good to get back on the field," said Williams. "The weather was perfect and the guys were very enthusiastic. We got everyone together and today was the time to get familiar with each other. Little by little over the next few days, we'll get the team organized."
