Vancouver Whitecaps have announced the Matt Watson has obtained a green card whilst Lee Nguyen has ben released.
27-year old English-born Watson joined the Whitecaps late last year and the club has been able to free up a foreign player spot on their roster after he received permanent residency status.
Watson has previously spent four seasons with North American Soccer League (NASL) outfit Carolina RailHawks after kicking off his career in North America with Richmond Kickers in 2006.
Meanwhile, 25-year old midfielder Nguyen, who on three occasions has represented the USA national team, was waived after joining the club via the MLS weighted Lottery process in December.
