Vancouver Whitecaps head coach Martin Rennie is looking for new signing Jun Marques Davidson to produce some of his customary composure this season.
The Japanese midfielder joined the 'Caps this off-season to reunite with Rennie after his stint at Carolina RailHawks and the boss is hoping he can step onto the ball and be a leading man in his debut MLS campaign.
"He's willing to take [the ball] when other players wouldn't."
Davidson was recently sent off for one of the only times in his career in a pre-season match and even though he forced his side to play with one man less, Rennie is hoping that the 28-year old can show a bit more aggression in his play."With his composure on the ball, his ability to get out of pressure, he gives your team a chance to be a good possession team," Rennie told The Province.
"He's hardly had any yellow cards in his career," he added. "I'd actually like to see him get a few more of those."
