Vancouver Whitecaps' Camilo named MLS Player of the Week

Vancouver Whitecaps forward Camilo Sanvezzo has been named the Week 3 MLS Player of the Week.

The 22-year old Brazilian striker marked his third MLS appearances with a double in the Whitecaps' brilliant comeback to force a 3-3 draw with Sporting Kansas City on the weekend.

As the home side trailed 3-0 with just over 20 minutes remaining, Camilo kicked into gear, providing the pass which saw Nizar Khalfan tee up for Atiba Harris for Vancouver's first.

He then took the onus on himself by scoring twice in injury time to salvage an unlikely draw and pick up the Player of the Week award.

Camilo joins Sporting Kansas City's Omar Bravo (Week 1) and Real Salt Lake's Javier Morales (Week 2) as the opening three nominations. All players have so far scored braces to win their award.
