Mustapha Jarju has made three appearances for Vancouver Whitecaps since joining from Belgian club RAEC Mons but is yet to show why he was signed as a Designated Player.
The 25-year old Gambia international made his MLS debut for the Canadian club on July 20 and his form has been up and down but head coach Tom Soehn has called for patience from supporters.
"He has been in and out," Soehn said. "What we need is consistent time to get him acquainted with the guys and understand how we want him to play.
"He's getting there but we still have work to do. It's a little bit of everything - his fitness, his sharpness and getting acquainted with his teammates."
And Jarju feels that a goal, and some consistent form, is just around the corner.
"I've had chances and missed, but I think I'll be there very soon," he said.
