Despite leading the team in assists this season, Davide Chiumiento has been urged to work harder by Vancouver Whitecaps head coach Tom Soehn.
The former Juventus and Lucerne winger has made 25 appearances for two goals and nine assists for the struggling Whitecaps and although his work going forward is impressive, Soehn feels it just as important to give your all when off the ball.
"He came to work today," Soehn said after practice of the 26-year old who has been left out of the last two Whitecaps squads.
"You want guys to respond and make sure they earn their place. He showed up today and had a pretty good day.
"If you're outside looking in, you have to work hard to make yourself available to see if you can fit right back in," he added.
"You want an honest group on the field."
Soehn's comments indicate that Chiumiento could be back in the Vancouver line-up for their final game of the season against Colorado Rapids on the weekend.
