Kees Vos is said to be behind an attempt to take Van Gaal to England, after both United and Tottenham sounded out the Holland coach this year, says the London Evening Standard.
Van Gaal is now believed to be at his villa on the Algarve in Portugal as he awaits developments following Moyes's sacking. In recent days, Spurs have sought to distance themselves from links with Van Gaal as the former Ajax, Barcelona and Bayern Munich coach delayed giving them an answer on whether he wished to succeed Tim Sherwood at White Hart Lane.
If Van Gaal does not end up at Old Trafford, it is possible he could find himself without a job in England should Spurs tire of waiting for his next move.
