Manchester United are set to revive their bid for AS Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman.

The Daily Star Sunday says Holland coach Louis van Gaal expects to take over at Old Trafford after the World Cup in Brazil this summer.

And he wants Strootman to join him at Old Trafford.

He has identified midfield as his top transfer priority.

His No.1 targets will be Bayern Munich's Toni Kroos, 24, and Roma's Dutch midfielder Strootman, 24, currently recovering from knee surgery.
