Van Gaal gets serious about bringing Vidic back to Man Utd

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is keen to bring Inter Milan flop Nemanja Vidic back to Old Trafford. The Daily Star Sunday says the Serbian defender left Old Trafford in the summer but has been DUMPED onto the transfer list by former Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini.

And Van Gaal is looking to pick him up on a free after spending nine years at Old Trafford.

Inter are unlikely to ask for a fee but will be delighted to rid themselves of Vidic's £50,000 a week wages.

Vidic will be allowed to leave when the transfer window opens at the end of the week and he would love to return to United where he could provide a short fix in defence until the end of the season.

Juventus and Besiktas are also showing interest in Vidic but "home" is where the heart is and the United legend would walk back into Old Trafford without any hesitation.
