Former Brisbane Roar striker Sergio van Dijk has signed a deal with Adelaide United.
Sources in Adelaide have revealed that the Dutchman has penned a three-year deal with the Reds in a major coup for the club.
van Dijk originally joined Adelaide in February on a six-month deal to compete in the Asian Champions League with the club but that has now been turned into a permanent deal.
The 27-year old has been on fire in the first two group matches of the Asian competition in which Adelaide have two wins and was beginning to attract plenty of attention in Asia. He scored on Wednesday night when the Reds recorded a brilliant 2-0 away win against Shandong Luneng in Jinan, China.
van Dijk has a great scoring record in two seasons in the A-League with the Roar, netting on 13 occasions in both seasons to finish with the Queensland club with a tally of 26 goals from 50 matches.
