Tottenham recruit Rafael van der Vaart has insisted he is excited about the challenge of joining a new club.
The 27-year old Holland international's transfer to Tottenham from Real Madrid was completed the day after the transfer window and for a bargain basement price from Spurs point of view.
The Hamburg and Ajax man is looking forward to playing week in, week out with what he describes as a 'beautiful club'.
"Four years at Spurs, for 11million euros, I can hardly believe it myself," van der Vaart said.
"The interest from Tottenham came very quick and I did not have much time to think.
"But I want to play football again and if possible every week, with a beautiful club. I'm totally happy.
"I am excited about playing in England. Whether it suits my style remains to be seen, but I think a good footballer can adapt and I am very proud of this transfer."
