Former Everton winger Andy van der Meyde has urged Aston Villa star Anwar El Ghazi to snub any offer from Goodison Park.

The 24-year-old is currently on loan at Aston Villa from Lille and has been linked with Everton.

But Van der Meyde joked that El Ghazi should listen to him and not follow in his footsteps.

"Don't do it. Don't. Do. It. Everton, what a s*** club," Van der Meyde said to VTBL.

"Please don't go to Everton because it would destroy you. Just look at me!"
