Former Manchester United goalkeeper Raimond van der Gouw is backing their move for Ajax No1 Jasper Cillessen. Cillessen is being linked with United as a replacement for the Real Madrid bound David de Gea.

"If the rumors are true and the news turns out to be correct, then Manchester United will get a very good goalkeeper," Van der Gouw told ELF Voetbal.

"A Dutch club will actually not quickly say 'no' to such amounts. But that's part of the game. The rumors been there for some time. The arrival of a Dutch goalkeeper is obvious. The club has a certain way of playing for the eye.

"Cillessen notched up an amazing World Cup last year and a good season at Ajax is now behind him. Moreover, he is the perfect age right now."
