Valencia striker Alberto Mari was happy to feature in their Copa del Rey win at Arosa SC.

It was Mari's first appearance since being injured in preseason.

He said, “I am very happy to be back playing after 4 months out through injury. It is always difficult to come in for the first games back and gain rhythm and confidence, and this victory is very important to continue advancing in the Copa del Rey.

“I want to thank my family and friends and above all, the club, who have supported me at all times. The coaching staff, my teammates and the medical services. It has been a pleasure, they have treated me great and I thank them.

"I felt good. I have been training with the team for several weeks, which gives you confidence and security. I felt a little short of breath after so many months out and I'm looking forward to continuing to have more opportunities, getting back on the pace and gaining confidence."
