Valencia star Juan Mata insists they can survive the sale of David Villa.
Villa was unveiled as Barcelona's latest capture on Friday at the Nou Camp.
"I do not know how things will happen, we must wait and see the team we have in pre-season, if there are more departures and see who comes in. Regardless of the departure of Villa or [David] Silva I am convinced that the team will be competitive and more still in the Champions League," he told AS.
"For the future we must mention the word "team." Replacing Villa is difficult, but we have a large group and people like Pablo [Hernandez], Joaquin, myself, we worked hard and we have much to gain in terms of importance to the team. Of course I would like that and be happy with that but I think we should emphasise the value of the group when the season starts."
