After completing his move to Valencia, German goalkeeper Timo Hildebrand declared his intention to establish himself as the outright No1.

Hildebrand faces stiff competition from Santiago Canizares to be first-choice, but says: "Nobody has said to me that I've come to be the second keeper. I know that it is a challenge to come to Valencia, but I was looking for a challenge and I am ready to fight.

"For that reason I have come and I am very happy to be here.

"Canizares is a good keeper, but I have still not seen how he trains and I cannot say much more than that."
