Valencia's new owner Peter Lim is chasing Chelsea striker Fernando Torres.
The Sunday Mirror says Inter Milan are in pole position for Torres, 30, who has two years left on his Chelsea contract but will be allowed to leave for around £12million, a fraction of the British-record £50m fee the Blues paid Liverpool for him in 2011.
But Valencia are thought to be willing to offer a higher wage packet for the Spain international, who is also a target for his former club Atletico Madrid.
