Eliaquim Mangala will join Valencia on a season-long loan deal on Wednesday.
France Football reports that the Manchester City defender is set to move to Spain after Los Che won the race to his services.
Portuguese giants Porto were showing significant interest in Mangala but it is understood that Valencia made a better loan offer for the Frenchman.
However, the Manchester Evening News have suggested that Mangala, 25, will return to Porto on a two-year deal loan.
Either way, Mangala is out of favour at City under Pep Guardiola following the big-money arrival of John Stones and Aleksandar Kolarov's successful shift to centre-back when required, and will leave the Etihad Stadium before the transfer deadline.
