Valencia defender Jose Gaya's four match ban stands for the new season.
The Administrative Court of Sport (CAS) have dismissed Valencia's appeal of the four-match ban handed to captain Jose Gaya.
"They do what they want" and "he saw it and didn't want to whistle". Those are the words Gaya directed towards a referee after a league match last season.
After being handed an initial four-match ban, Valencia vowed to fight the decision. Even after losing the appeal, Valencia took the case to CAS.
A final decision was slow to materialise until Thursday, when the club received word that the ban had been upheld, meaning Gaya won't be able to play until the fifth match of the season.
