Valencia defender Foulquier: Best form of my career?

Valencia defender Dimitri Foulquier is full of praise for the team spirit inside the squad.

Foulquier admits they're pleased with their progress as they chase European qualification.

He told the club's website: "We are doing well, playing and competing well, especially at the Camp de Mestalla. There are 38 games in the season and we have to continue like this and finish well. We have to compete every game to win it and in the end, we'll see how many points we get. The important thing is always the pitch, putting in the intensity and competing to win the games.

"We have a very good group, a very good atmosphere. We all get on well and fight as one. The coach is also very important because his message is that we are in a very big club and we have to compete with intensity every game, we can beat anyone, and we are convinced of that. There is a very good connection between the younger players and the veteran ones, and you can see that on the pitch. We have to protect that.

"I don't know if this is my best moment. First year I played a lot, and we had a good year, last year it was complicated and I didn't fit in the coach's plans, the team wasn't good collectively, and we were all less confident... this year at the beginning I felt better with the way (Ruben) Baraja was playing. Thierry is having a great season, I didn't get many minutes at the beginning, but then I got my chance and I tried to take advantage of it. I give what I can and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, it's football."
