Valencia coach Gattuso happy for Pioli and AC Milan; recalls Fiorentina collapse

Valencia coach Rino Gattuso is happy for Stefano Pioli over his Scudetto success with AC Milan.

Pioli originally succeeded Gattuso as Milan coach.

"History cannot be erased, the joy of the team that you supported as a child and whose jersey I wore 500 times remains," said Gattuso.

"I was surprised however, he (Pioli) proposed a new football and the Scudetto was certainly deserved."

Gattuso also discussed last year's on-off move to Fiorentina.

He told Sky Italia: "Maybe I was wrong not to speak, but that's how I am. I have suffered for many things that have been said about me lately, I was a bit targeted on things that are not me, that are not true. They are phrases said 15 years, but now I am a totally different person.

"Everyone thought that behind my farewell to Fiorentina there was an agreement down in my hand, but it was not like that. Social media can destroy a person, there are many examples, on the web there are labels that mark you throughout your life. Many things that have been said I let them pass, I have been hurt but that's okay."
