Valencia captain Gaya: Racist fans must be punished - but Vinicius Jr can't do that

Valencia captain Jose Luis Gaya says fans found racially abusing Real Madrid winger Vini Jr should be punished.

Vinicius Jr was the subject of racist chants during the defeat which ended with him being sent off for slapping Hugo Duro.

"We condemn all insults and that's what the cameras are there for. If it is clear who it was, I don't want him to enter a football stadium again. Racist insults don't make any sense, because we also have players of colour. It doesn't make sense, I don't understand it," Gaya told Movistar.

Gaya also criticised Vinicius for making gestures to the stands about the prospect of Valencia being relegated as he was sent off.

"Making 'to the Segunda' gestures is not right. I can understand it, he tries to take out his anger in that way but one thing doesn't take away from the other. I denounce those racist insults but he can't do that either because it was a minority of people," added Gaya.
