Valencia captain Albelda weights into Garay row: Clubs aren't NGOs

Valencia captain David Albelda has leaned towards the club's stand over their contract row with Ezequiel Garay.

As he recovers from knee surgery, Garay hit out at Valencia after learning his contract would not be renewed at the end of this month.

Albelda has now jumped into the row, telling Deportes Cope Valencia: "Behind all this history there is something we do not know. Garay has given his version, the club has given their version and obviously they have not reached an understanding.

"Each tell the facts as they wanted. It is an atypical situation. Normally, if you reach an agreement, great, and if you do not, goodbye very good.

"To this we add the delicate situation of Garay's injury. The clubs, unfortunately, are not NGOs. Garay has an age, a status ... and the club has to assess if they're interested in Garay under the current conditions or if they're not interested."
