Manchester United goalkeeper Victor Valdes is reportedly free to leave Old Trafford provided he doesn't join the Red Devils' Premier League rivals Liverpool.
The Mirror is reporting United have agreed to let Valdes depart on a free transfer on the condition he moves to continental Europe and not to a Premier League club.
It is understood Liverpool have been keeping tabs on Valdes' circumstances at Old Trafford after the 33-year-old fell out of favour with United boss Louis van Gaal.
It has been 43 years since a player completed a switch between the two fierce Premier League rivals, with Phil Chisnall joining Liverpool from United in 1972.
