USA international striker Kenny Cooper has joined Plymouth Argyle on loan for the remainder of the season from 1860 Munich.
The German club's sporting director, Miki Stevic, says Cooper is making the move to boost his hopes of making the American World Cup roster.
Munich couldn't guarantee Cooper regular action during the second half of the season.
The former MLS all-star, who has four goals in 10 international appearances, moved to Germany in the off-season after three years at FC Dallas.
