Coppertone has become a sponsor of US Soccer and the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), reports, www.sportspromedia.com/. The brand will become the official suncare partner of the NWSL and US Soccer, supporting the women's national team through this summer's Fifa Women's World Cup in Canada and the men's team ahead of next year's Copa América Centenario.
Both teams will be provided with Coppertone Sport sunscreen products, while leading American players will also serve as ambassadors for campaigns promoting 'sun smart habits', particularly among children and young people.
Coppertone will also be a sponsor of the US youth national teams and the US Soccer Development Academy.
The partnership is the result of a multi-year deal between Coppertone owner Bayer HealthCare and Soccer United Marketing, the marketing arm of US Soccer.
We're thrilled to be partnering with US Soccer and NWSL," said Bayer HealthCare's vice president for suncare and dermatology, Tracy Nunziata.
"Coppertone pioneered the suncare industry with its creation of the sport sunscreen category and its extensive portfolio of products. That's why working with such an elite group of athletes to spread the sun protection message is a perfect match for us."
