Union new boy Parke thrilled to be back in Philadelphia

Jeff Parke admits it feels nice to be back in his home state of Pennsylvania after recently leaving Seattle Sounders.

The 30-year old defender was picked up by hometown side Philadelphia Union in a trade which saw the Sounders receive 2013 Supplemental Draft Pick and allocation money and he says it is good to be able to head back home after spending his career in New York, Vancouver and Seattle.

"It's a dream come true. Once the Union was a team in [Major League Soccer], it was always a goal of mine to be a part of their club, [and] to help them become a force in the league," he told local reporters.

"You know that being an expansion team, it takes a while.

"I've grown up here and been around the Philadelphia area my whole life - I really hadn't left until I became a pro.

"It's amazing to be back, and to actually come back full circle, and hopefully finish my career in a place where I started it."
