Brisbane Roar have secured sponsorship from Griffith University for their 2015 AFC Champions League campaign, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/. The local university will support the reigning A-League champions throughout their bid to progress through the six-game group stage.
Under the deal Griffith University branding will be displayed on the front of the Roar's playing shirts.
The Roar begin their AFC Champions League campaign when they host Chinese Super League side Beijing Guoan on Wednesday night. Also in their group are two-time Asian champions Suwon Bluewings, from South Korea, and 2007 champions Urawa Red Diamonds, from Japan.
"Griffith University is very proud to be one of Australia's foremost sporting universities with a long history of supporting high-level sports and sports performers," said Professor Sarah Todd, the pro vice chancellor at Griffith University.
"This partnership provides further opportunity to do this on an international level and it is also a very visible way of Griffith signalling its deep engagement with Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Asia."
