El Salvador left-back Deris Umanzor is on the verge of signing a deal with Chicago Fire. The 30-year old has been training with the club and it appears certain that he will put pen to a deal to join the MLS outfit.

Fire head coach Carlos de los Cobos has been keen to get Umanzor onto his roster after coaching him at international level with the El Salvador national team and reports suggest that he is very close to getting his man.

He most recently played with Salvadoran club DC Aguila after commencing his career with Municipal Limeno.
